ADHD Therapy Options and Resources

At Northcote Psychology we offer both group and individual therapy for people with ADHD. This page describes these options as well as listing some of other ADHD-related resources.

Individual Therapy for ADHD

Even if you’ve only been recently diagnosed with ADHD, you’ve been managing the symptoms all your life. An unreliable ability to focus, procrastination, impulsity, difficulties in staying organised. Dealing with all this can lead to self doubt, or cause you to put rigid and unhelpful standards on yourself. Individial therapy is a good place to work through the emotional difficulties associated with having ADHD, and process some of the unhelpful beliefs you may have developed about yourself. Individual therapy can also be a good place to learn helpful strategies for managing your ADHD more effectively. Psychologists Alex, Jodie and Gil all have a particular interest in treating ADHD, and see clients with ADHD for one on one therapy.

Group therapy for ADHD

Group therapy room at Northcote Psychology

Northcote psychology has been running ADHD groups for the past two years. The groups are co-facillitated by Gil Clendinnen and Aaron Hockaday. Each week covers a specific symptom area associated with ADHD, and evidence-based techniques are provided. The group can also be a great way to feel less alone with your diagnosis.
